Stainless Steel Flush Plate with Black Rectangular Buttons for Commercial Washrooms

In a washroom that sees hundreds of people a day, the flush plate is one of the few fittings a visitor actually touches, and it is usually the first thing to look tired. We build this one from 1.2 mm 304 stainless steel rather than plated plastic, so it survives the trolley, the bucket and the wrong cleaning chemical without going patchy.

The brushed surface hides water marks and light scuffs far better than polished steel, and the two black rectangular buttons are 60 x 30 mm, big enough to hit with a forearm when a visitor is carrying a bag. If a cap is ever scratched, it can be replaced on site without dismantling the plate.

What to warn the cleaning team about

Brushed 304 stainless handles everyday bathroom cleaners well, but concentrated hydrochloric or thick bleach left to dwell will dull any steel finish, ours included. A neutral or mildly acidic spray, wiped off within a few minutes, keeps the surface as it left the factory. We put that line on the carton label so the message reaches the person holding the bottle.

The plate is fixed to the frame on a stainless carrier, which is why it stays flat against the wall instead of bowing when a heavy-handed user leans on it. That detail costs us a little more and saves a call-out later.
