Wall-Hung Vanity — The Specification Is the Wall, Not the Cabinet

A wall-hung vanity is the only bathroom unit whose performance is decided by something the buyer does not purchase. The cabinet can be specified perfectly and still fail in service, because a floating unit transfers its entire weight — cabinet, counter, basin, a full bowl of water and whatever a user leans on it — into the wall through its fixings. If the wall cannot take that load at that position, the unit will eventually move, and the tile line will not be the thing that fails first. That is why the drawing that matters for a wall-hung vanity is not the cabinet elevation but the wall build-up behind it.

YingJie Bath (YingJie) produces wall-hung and floating vanity units from a 200 mm slim body up to 1500 mm full-furniture combinations, in single-basin and double-basin layouts, with integrated or vessel basins and matching lit mirrors. Body material, front profile and finish are confirmed per model. We have produced bathroom products in China since 2010 from a 60,000㎡ facility with 200+ workers and a monthly capacity of 40,000 units, exporting to 50+ countries for hotel, apartment and residential projects. OEM and ODM are accepted.

ISO9001 covers our factory quality management system across every product line, and CE applies to the wall-hung vanity range. CUPC, Watermark and SASO apply to ceramic sanitary ware rather than to the cabinet body; where a unit includes a ceramic basin, the applicable certification is confirmed per product against the destination market. Tell us your market and we will confirm exactly which certification your order will carry.

Standard MOQ is 50 pieces per model and production lead time is 25–35 days. Send the wall construction, the fixing positions available and the basin layout, and we will confirm the unit configuration and the mounting that the wall can actually support.

Why Specify YingJie Wall-Hung Vanities

Specified from the Wall Outwards

Fixing positions, wall build-up and cabinet width are settled before the unit is chosen, because a floating cabinet is only as good as the wall it hangs from.

200 mm Slim to 1500 mm Combinations

From a narrow slim-body unit with open side shelving to a full 1500 mm furniture combination, so the same range covers a compact en-suite and a double-basin master bathroom.

Floor Left Clear

Because the cabinet does not touch the floor, the floor line is unbroken and the area beneath can be cleaned without moving furniture — the practical reason this format dominates hotel bathrooms.

Mirror and Cabinet as One Set

Lit mirrors, mirror cabinets and tall side cabinets are supplied matched to the vanity, so the mirror line, the basin position and the cabinet width are aligned as one composition.

What Is a Wall-Hung Vanity?

A wall-hung vanity — also specified as a floating vanity — is a bathroom cabinet fixed to the wall with its underside clear of the floor. Nothing about the cabinet carries the load: the entire weight of the unit, the counter, the basin, the water in the bowl and any force a user applies to it is transferred into the wall through the fixings.

Everything that follows is therefore a wall question, not a cabinet question. The wall has to carry the load at the fixing positions — which means the build-up behind the tile has to be known, and suitable backing added where it is not. The fixing positions have to suit the cabinet — a double-basin unit concentrates more load further apart than a slim single unit. The layout has to allow for service access — supply and waste connections sit behind or beneath a floating cabinet, and they have to remain reachable.

Wall-hung units are normally specified across a whole project rather than a single room, so they are usually ordered together with the project's mirrors, basins and the rest of the sanitary ware scope.

Wall-Hung Vanity Configurations We Supply

  • Slim-body floating vanity — a 200 mm body with open side shelving, for compact bathrooms and en-suites where depth is the binding constraint.
  • Single-drawer floating vanity — one wide drawer under a counter, the format most often repeated across hotel and apartment bathrooms.
  • Two-door and two-drawer wall-hung vanity — increased storage on the same wall-hung principle, for family bathrooms and serviced apartments.
  • Fluted and reeded front vanity — wall-hung units with ribbed or arched front profiles where the frontage is part of the design intent.
  • Double-basin wall-hung vanity — two vessel basins on a wide lit mirror, for master bathrooms and twin-occupancy rooms.
  • Wall-hung vanity with side cabinet or mirror cabinet — the vanity supplied with a tall side cabinet or a two-door mirror cabinet as one set.

Body material, front profile, finish, basin type and mirror format are confirmed per model; the range spans twelve configurations across these groups.

How to Specify a Wall-Hung Vanity

  1. Confirm the wall build-up first. Solid wall, stud and plasterboard take different fixings; a floating cabinet cannot be made safe by choosing a better cabinet, only by fixing into something that can carry the load.
  2. Calculate the load at the fixing positions. Cabinet, counter, basin, water and user loading all transfer through the fixings, and a wide double-basin unit concentrates more load further apart than a slim single unit.
  3. Confirm where the backing is. Where the wall cannot take the load at the intended position, add backing or move the unit — decided at specification stage, never on site.
  4. Set the cabinet height and the mirror line together. Cabinet underside, counter height, mirror position and basin reach are one composition; setting them separately is what produces a mirror that does not line up with the basin.
  5. Confirm the service access. Supply and waste connections sit behind or beneath a floating cabinet, so the arrangement has to allow the connections to be reached without dismantling the unit.
  6. Confirm the destination market, and its certification requirement is fixed with the order. The cabinet body carries no sanitary ware certification of its own; where a unit takes a ceramic basin, that component's certification is confirmed per product.

Advantages of Wall-Hung Vanities

  • Floor line left clear — the whole floor area can be cleaned without moving furniture, which is why the format dominates hotel and healthcare bathrooms.
  • Visual space — a cabinet that does not touch the floor makes a small bathroom read as larger, without changing the room's dimensions.
  • Ergonomic counter height — the counter height is a free choice rather than a consequence of where the floor is, so it can be set to the users.
  • Easy to keep clean beneath — no plinth to trap water or debris, and no skirting to work around.
  • One composition with the mirror — cabinet, lit mirror and side cabinet supplied matched, so the wall reads as one designed element.
  • Configured from slim to full width — from a 200 mm slim unit to a 1500 mm double-basin combination on the same wall-hung principle.

Applications

  • Hotel and serviced-apartment bathrooms — the format most specified for guest bathrooms, because the clear floor simplifies daily cleaning between guests.
  • Compact bathrooms and en-suites — where a slim-body unit recovers circulation space that a floor-standing cabinet would take.
  • Master and twin-occupancy bathrooms — double-basin wall-hung units on a wide lit mirror.
  • Healthcare and accessible bathrooms — clear floor beneath the unit for cleaning and for wheelchair footroom.
  • Residential and apartment developments — repetitive bathrooms where the same unit and mounting detail are repeated across many rooms.

Materials & Manufacturing

A wall-hung vanity is an assembly of cabinet body, counter, basin, mirror and hardware, brought together as one unit and fixed to the wall as one unit. The structural question is not the cabinet's construction but the interface between the cabinet's fixing points and the wall behind them.

Body material, front construction, counter and basin type, handle and runner hardware, and mirror format are confirmed per model, because the range covers slim single units and wide double-basin combinations, and the bodies and frontages differ across it. What is consistent is the mounting logic: the unit is specified from the wall outwards, and the backing required at the fixing positions is confirmed against the wall build-up before production.

Each order passes the same factory acceptance check before loading — appearance, surface integrity and dimensional accuracy — and the inspection record is issued with the shipping documents.

FAQ

Q: What does the wall need to provide for a wall-hung vanity?

A: Enough strength at the fixing positions to carry the cabinet, counter, basin, water and any load a user applies — all of which transfer into the wall through the fixings. Solid wall, stud and plasterboard each need a different fixing approach, so the wall build-up is confirmed before the unit is chosen. Where the wall cannot take the load at the intended position, backing is added or the unit is moved.

Q: How much does a wall-hung vanity weigh in service?

A: The working load is the unit itself plus the counter, basin, the water in the bowl and the force a user applies by leaning on it. The exact figures are confirmed per model, because a wide double-basin combination concentrates more load further apart than a slim single unit — which is why the fixing positions are checked against the cabinet width.

Q: Can a wall-hung vanity be fitted where the backing is not in the right place?

A: Yes — by adding backing or by moving the unit, both of which are decided at specification stage rather than on site. A floating cabinet cannot be made safe by selecting a stronger cabinet; only the interface between its fixings and the wall can be improved.

Q: How is the service access handled with a floating cabinet?

A: Supply and waste connections sit behind or beneath the cabinet, so the arrangement has to allow the connections to be reached without dismantling the unit. We confirm the connection layout against the cabinet depth and the drawer configuration as part of the specification.

Q: Which certifications apply to wall-hung vanities?

A: ISO9001 covers our factory quality management system across every product line, and CE applies to the wall-hung vanity range. CUPC, Watermark and SASO apply to ceramic sanitary ware rather than to the cabinet body; where a unit includes a ceramic basin, the applicable certification is confirmed per product against the destination market. Give us the market and the order's certification list is confirmed back to you.

Q: Do you supply a slim unit for a very small bathroom?

A: Yes. Slim-body floating units of around 200 mm are part of the range, some with open side shelving, for compact bathrooms and en-suites where depth is the constraint. Send the room's clear dimensions and we will confirm which widths and depths fit with circulation space left over.

Q: What is the MOQ and lead time?

A: The standard minimum is 50 pieces per model, with 25–35 days in production. Where an order covers several models or includes matching mirrors and side cabinets, production is scheduled in parallel and the order's lead time is the longest single line rather than the sum. Larger quantities are to be negotiated.

Q: Do you support OEM and ODM?

A: Yes. OEM and ODM are accepted across the range, from custom cabinet dimensions and colourways to front profiles, basin and mirror matching, hardware selection, branding and packaging. A specific colourway or front profile should be checked with our sales team before the specification is finalized.
